IGA

The International Space Station Intergovernmental Agreement, often referred to as 'the IGA'. An international treaty signed on 29 January 1998 by the fourteen governments involved in the Space Station project (the US, Canada, Japan, the Russian Federation, and the then 10 Member States of ESA). It established 'a long term international co-operative framework on the basis of genuine partnership, for the detailed design, development, operation, and utilisation of a permanently inhabited civil Space Station for peaceful purposes, in accordance with international law'.

ISRO

The Indian Space Research Organisation, the national space agency of India, headquartered in Bangalore. Created in 1969, when it superseded the Indian National Committee for Space Research (INCOSPAR), set up by the Government of India in 1962.
